Toolbar not accessible

I’ve started using a component video connection to my HTPC which greatly improves picture quality, but the highest resolution is 740 x 480.  I know that this is not a good resolution for Kylo, but I’m stuck with it.

I had Kylo set to hide the bottom toolbar and unhide it when I mouse over the bottom of the screen.  At the new resolution, however, the toolbar does not appear.

How can I either A) make the toolbar appear when I mouse-over, or B) change the setting so that it is permanently unhidden?

Follow-up question:  If the answer is to reinstall, is it possible to save my bookmarks from my current installation and restore them into a new installation?

Thanks for your help.

You shouldn’t have to reinstall. Even if you did, as long as you don’t do a complete uninstall first (you can install new versions on top of old), you wouldn’t lose your bookmarks.

Try hitting F2 or ctrl+o. Assuming you have the latest version installed (1.1.1 on Windows), both should bring up your settings screen and you can go to the controls tab and un-check the “Auto-hide the control bar” setting.

You’ll also want to go under the “Display” tab and mess with the “Adjust screen size” setting to make sure you don’t have any overscan (black border around the edge of the screen).

Success, sort of.  I was able to change the setting, but the only part of the control bar I am now able to see is the “Open New Page?See Page List” button.  How can I see the rest of the controls?

Alternately: For my purposes, I really need to be able to see my bookmarks.  Is there a keyboard command to display them?  Or can I force Kylo to open to them?

Hit F1 to jump to the Help screen so you can go to the shortcuts tab so you can see that F4 will take you to Bookmarks wink

I’ll see if I can do anything to allow the layout to squeeze down to 480 vertical on the next release. The Bookmarks page also seems to break the 740 horizontal by just a little bit.

I’m not seeing a vertical scrollbar on webpages.  Anything I can do about that?
